Prevent formation of cavities:
Children are more prone to development of cavities due to frequent meals, drinking soda, sugar consumption. If they are not rinsed immediately, the bacteria feed on sugar and create acid which erodes the teeth resulting in cavity formation. Once cavity is formed, it needs cutting tooth structure to remove the decay. However, this could be prevented by a conservative approach called sealants. Sealant do not require cutting of tooth structure and is placed on premolars and molars.
